SunAura Machinery Exhibits at Propak Cape 2026: Southern Africa’s Packaging Show

October 13, 2026  |  by Monica, SunAura Machinery International Sales

CAPE TOWN, South Africa — SunAura Machinery is exhibiting at Propak Cape 2026, Southern Africa’s largest packaging and processing trade show, held at the Cape Town International Convention Centre from October 14–16. This is our first time exhibiting at the South African show, and we’re using it to introduce our packaging equipment range to Southern African food, beverage and FMCG producers.

Our Cape Town booth features CE-certified flow wrappers, vacuum sealers and filling machines — all configured for 220V/50Hz South African power.

Among the systems on display at Propak Cape, our sister company SunAura Packaging Machines recently commissioned a collaborative robot palletizer for a multi-SKU food manufacturer — the fencing-free cobot cell visitors can see in the range at the show.

Why Southern Africa?

Southern Africa’s food processing sector is modernizing quickly. South Africa, Namibia, Botswana, Zambia and Kenya all have active food and beverage producers who are replacing aging manual packaging lines with automatic equipment. The region has historically bought European or local-used equipment, but buyers are increasingly open to Chinese-built machines that offer the same automation at 40–60% lower cost.

Our existing customer base in Africa includes clients in Egypt, Nigeria and Kenya. Propak Cape is our opportunity to introduce the brand to Southern African buyers who haven’t sourced from China before.

What We’re Showcasing

At our booth we’re demonstrating three machines live:

  • Servo flow wrapper (SZ-320) — running biltong sticks and dried fruit at 40 packs/min, demonstrating quick size changeover for small-batch producers
  • Double-chamber vacuum sealer (DZ-500/2S) (provided by sister company SunAura Packaging Machines) — packaging coffee beans and biltong samples, showing the vacuum and gas-flush function for MAP packaging
  • Automatic liquid filling machine (GFG-4) — 4-head piston filler running cooking oil and sauce samples at 1,000 bottles/hour

All machines are wired for 220V/50Hz South African power and include English documentation and CE safety guards. We’ve also brought sample film rolls, sealing jaw tooling and spare parts kits so buyers can see exactly what they’re getting.

What We’re Hearing from African Buyers

Pre-show conversations with potential customers in the region have surfaced three consistent priorities:

1. Reliable after-sales support

The biggest concern we hear from African buyers is: “If the machine breaks, how fast can you fix it?” This is a fair concern — shipping spare parts from China to South Africa takes 7–14 days by sea. Our answer: we recommend every African customer buy a recommended spare parts kit with the machine (sealing brushes, belts, sensors, heater elements), and we carry common wear parts at our regional partner’s warehouse in Johannesburg. For critical issues, our engineers do remote video diagnostics, and on-site service is available within 48 hours for urgent breakdowns.

2. Local power and utility compatibility

South Africa runs on 220V/50Hz, and many facilities experience load-shedding (planned power outages). We specify machines that handle voltage fluctuations and include stable UPS backups for the HMI control panel so settings aren’t lost during power cuts. See our preventive maintenance checklist for how to protect machines in unstable power environments.

3. Multi-product flexibility

Southern African food producers often run multiple SKUs on the same line — a single bakery might package biscuits, rusks and snack bars on the same flow wrapper. They need quick changeover (under 15 minutes), tooling that’s easy to swap, and machines that handle multiple film materials. Our servo flow wrappers are designed for exactly this kind of multi-SKU operation.

Meet Us at Propak Cape

The show runs October 14–16 at the CTICC. If you’re a food, beverage or FMCG producer in Southern Africa, come by our booth — we’ll have live machine demonstrations, sample testing with your product, and show-only pricing valid through October 31. We’re also scheduling post-show factory visits to Qingdao for serious buyers who want to see the production floor.

Can’t make it to Cape Town? Book a virtual factory tour through the contact page — we’ll connect you to a live video walkthrough during show hours. Browse our flow wrappers and liquid fillers before your call; vacuum sealers are available from our sister company SunAura Packaging Machines.
