TURNTABLE PALLET WRAPPER

Semi-Automatic Turntable Pallet Wrapper

Model: PW-T1650

Economical and reliable stretch wrapping solution for low-to-medium volume operations. Wraps 20-30 pallets per hour with a 2000kg load capacity on a Ø1650mm turntable. Variable speed 0-12rpm with soft start/stop, pre-stretch film carriage, and easy-to-use control panel. Ideal for warehouses, distribution centers and manufacturing facilities.

Overview

The PW-T1650 is our semi-automatic turntable pallet wrapper, designed for facilities that wrap 20-30 pallets per hour. The operator places the pallet on the turntable, attaches the film tail to the load, presses start, and the machine handles the wrapping cycle automatically — including adjustable top and bottom reinforcement revolutions.

The Ø1650mm reinforced steel turntable handles loads up to 2000kg, while the variable-frequency drive provides smooth 0-12rpm rotation with soft start and stop to prevent load shift. The pre-stretch film carriage stretches film up to 250% before application, significantly reducing film consumption compared to hand wrapping.

Every machine is assembled in our factory and run continuously for 48 hours at rated speed before shipment. CE certified, with optional top press, loading ramp and extended mast configurations available to match your specific operation.

How to Choose the Right Semi-Automatic Turntable Pallet Wrapper

Key factors to consider when selecting a wrapping machine for your specific operation.

FactorRecommendation
Daily Pallet VolumeBest for 20-50 pallets/day. For higher volumes (>50/day), consider the Online Pallet Wrapper PW-OL2000 or Rotary Arm PW-RA1500.
Pallet SizeStandard 1200×1000mm or 1100×1100mm pallets. Maximum wrapping diameter Ø2000mm. Custom sizes available on request.
Load WeightUp to 2000kg. For heavier loads (>2000kg), consider reinforced turntable options or the Top Press model PW-TP1650.
Load StabilityFor unstable or lightweight loads, the Top Press Pallet Wrapper PW-TP1650 with pneumatic/electric top press is recommended.
Automation LevelSemi-automatic requires manual film attachment. For fully automated operation, choose the Gantry Online Pallet Wrapper PW-GO1200.
Budget ConsiderationMost economical choice for entry-level automated wrapping. Fast ROI typically within 6-12 months through labor and film savings.

Expert Selection Tips

  • Calculate your daily pallet volume before selecting — undersizing leads to bottlenecks
  • Measure your actual pallet dimensions, including overhang, before ordering
  • Consider future growth when choosing capacity — a 30% buffer is recommended
  • Factor in ceiling height — machines with 2000mm+ wrapping height need adequate clearance
  • Request a free factory test with your actual pallets before final purchase decision
  • Compare total cost of ownership, not just purchase price — film consumption varies significantly

WeeklyCheck and tension drive chain. Lubricate guide rails with silicone spray. Inspect electrical connections for looseness. Clean control panel and sensors.
MonthlyInspect pre-stretch rollers for wear. Check turntable bearing lubrication. Verify safety guard integrity. Test all limit switches and sensors. Tighten all structural bolts.
QuarterlyReplace worn drive belt if necessary. Inspect and clean motor cooling vents. Verify grounding connections. Calibrate film tension settings. Check gearbox oil level and top up if needed.
AnnuallyComplete gearbox oil change. Replace pre-stretch roller bearings. Full electrical system inspection. Turntable bearing repacking. Update machine firmware if applicable. Comprehensive performance test with actual load.

Common Troubleshooting

Symptom: Film breaks frequently during wrapping

Cause: Film tension too high, or film quality below specification, or pre-stretch ratio set too high for film grade.

Solution: Reduce tension setting on control panel. Verify film is 17-25 micron machine-grade stretch film. Lower pre-stretch ratio to 200% if using thinner film. Check for sharp edges on load causing film tears.

Symptom: Turntable does not rotate or rotates slowly

Cause: Drive chain loose or broken, motor overload triggered, or variable frequency drive fault.

Solution: Check VFD display for error code. Inspect drive chain tension and condition. Reset motor overload protector. Verify power supply voltage is within specification. Contact technical support if error code persists.

Symptom: Film carriage does not move up or down

Cause: Limit switch malfunction, drive motor fault, or guide rail obstruction.

Solution: Check for obstructions on guide rails. Test up/down limit switches manually. Inspect carriage drive motor and belt. Verify carriage is not overloaded. Clean photo-eye sensors if equipped.

Symptom: Wrapped load has loose film or sagging

Cause: Insufficient wrapping tension, too few overlap revolutions, or film not properly pre-stretched.

Solution: Increase tension setting on control panel. Add 1-2 extra overlap revolutions in program settings. Verify pre-stretch carriage is functioning correctly. Check film roll is loaded properly and feeding freely. Ensure load is within weight capacity.

Common Questions

How long does it take to install and set up the PW-T1650?
The PW-T1650 ships fully assembled and tested. Installation typically takes 4-8 hours for your maintenance team — simply position the machine, connect power (220V or 380V), load the film roll, and run test cycles. We provide detailed installation manuals, wiring diagrams and video support. Optional on-site installation by our engineers is available, including operator training (typically 1 day).
What type of stretch film does this machine use?
The PW-T1650 uses standard 500mm-wide machine-grade stretch wrap (17-25 micron thickness). The pre-stretch carriage stretches film up to 250%, so a 1500m film roll yields approximately 3750m of applied film. Both cast and blown film types work well. We can supply film with your machine order, or you can source locally — any standard machine stretch wrap is compatible.
Can this machine handle non-standard pallet sizes?
The standard PW-T1650 handles pallets from 500×500mm up to 1200×1200mm, with wrap height up to 2000mm (extendable to 3000mm). For larger footprints (up to 1500×1500mm) or heavier loads (up to 5000kg), we offer the PW-T2000 model with a Ø2000mm turntable. Custom turntable sizes and configurations are available — send us your pallet dimensions and we’ll recommend the right model.
What is the typical film consumption per pallet?
For a standard 1200×1000mm pallet wrapped to 2000mm height with 3 bottom and 3 top reinforcement revolutions, expect approximately 80-120 grams of 20-micron stretch film per pallet. Actual consumption depends on wrap height, number of revolutions, film thickness and pre-stretch setting. Compared to hand wrapping (which typically uses 200-300g per pallet with poor consistency), the PW-T1650 reduces film cost by 40-60% while improving load stability.
Do you offer training for our operators?
Yes. With optional on-site installation, our engineer provides comprehensive operator training covering: machine operation, film loading, wrap cycle programming, routine maintenance, safety procedures, and troubleshooting. Training typically takes 4-6 hours and includes hands-on practice with your actual pallets. We also provide printed operation manuals and video tutorials. For self-installation, we offer free remote video training sessions via WhatsApp or Zoom.
