Motorized Roller Conveyor
The SunAura motorized roller conveyor is a powered stainless steel roller line driven by an electric motor and gearbox, built to move cartons, boxes and totes steadily along level packaging lines and warehouses. Variable speed from 0 to 15 m/min and a 50 kg/m load rating make it the workhorse of every carton sealing and distribution system — CE-certified and factory-direct from our 48,000㎡ Qingdao plant.
Product Description
The SunAura motorized roller conveyor is a powered, fixed-length roller line designed to transport rigid cartons, cardboard boxes and plastic totes between packaging machines, workstations and warehouse racks. Unlike a gravity conveyor, which relies on a downward slope, this unit runs level thanks to an electric drive motor and gearbox that turns a full row of Φ50mm stainless steel rollers through a chain-and-sprocket drive. The result is a controlled, repeatable flow of product at a speed you set from the speed controller.
The frame is built from 304 stainless steel, which resists moisture, spills and washdown in food, beverage and pharmaceutical environments. Roller pitch is chosen to suit your smallest carton — typically 75mm for light boxes, up to 100mm for heavier cases. Load capacity is rated at 50kg per meter, and the conveyor speed is variable from 0 to 15m/min to match upstream and downstream machinery. Adjustable-height legs (600–900mm) let you match the line to your case sealer, palletizer or packing bench, and section lengths of 1–3m bolt together to build any straight run you need.
Every powered conveyor section we build completes a 48-hour continuous run test in our Qingdao factory before shipment. We can also customize width, length, motor voltage (220V / 380V), side guides and transitions to integrate cleanly with your existing equipment.

Key Features & Benefits
- True powered roller drive: Electric motor and gearbox turn the full roller bed through a chain drive — product moves reliably on a level floor with no slope required.
- 304 stainless steel frame: Corrosion-resistant frame and rollers suit food, beverage, pharma and washdown environments where painted steel would rust.
- Variable speed 0–15 m/min: Match conveyor speed to your case sealer, labeler or palletizer so product flows without backing up or bunching.
- 50 kg/m load rating: Heavy-duty construction carries full cartons, totes and even loaded shipping cases without sagging or stalling.
- Modular bolt-together sections: 1–3m sections bolt end-to-end to build any straight run; add turns, pushes or telescopes later as your line grows.
- Adjustable height 600–900mm: Match the conveyor deck to adjacent machines on the floor with simple threaded leg adjustment.
- Variable width to order: Standard widths from 300 to 800mm; custom widths built to suit the widest carton in your mix.
- 48-hour run tested: Every motorized section is loaded and run continuously for 48 hours in our factory before it leaves Qingdao.
Application Industries
Carton Sealing Lines
Feeds cases through case sealers and tapers at a matched speed, keeping the end-of-line running without manual pushing.
Packaging Workshops
Connects filling, sealing, labeling and packing stations so cartons move automatically between operators.
Warehouse Receiving
Powered roller lines move pallets of cartons from the receiving dock to racking with minimal manual handling.
Distribution Centers
Backbone of sortation and order consolidation — links packing benches to telescopic truck-loading booms.
Food & Beverage Packaging
Stainless steel build withstands washdown, spills and moisture in food and beverage packaging areas.
Product compatibility: Rigid flat-bottomed cartons, corrugated boxes, plastic totes and shipping cases weighing up to 50kg/m. Soft bags or loose items should use our belt conveyor instead.
How the Motorized Roller Conveyor Works
This powered conveyor uses a drive motor to turn a continuous bed of rollers. The carton sits on top and is carried forward as each roller rotates:
- Drive motor turns the line shaft. A gear-motor mounted under the frame drives a transverse line shaft. The motor speed is set on the variable-speed controller (0–15m/min).
- Rollers rotate via chain and sprockets. A drive chain links each roller to the line shaft, so every roller in the section turns at the same speed in the same direction.
- Carton enters and rides the roller bed. The operator or upstream machine places a rigid carton flat on the rollers. Friction between the carton bottom and the roller surface moves the carton forward.
- Product transfers to the next section. At the end of one 1–3m section, the carton rolls directly onto the bolted-next section, which continues driving it toward the next machine.
- Speed matched to downstream equipment. The variable-speed drive lets you tune the conveyor so product arrives at the case sealer or palletizer at the exact rate it can process.
Is This the Right Conveyor for You?
This motorized roller conveyor is the right fit if your operation matches all four of the following. If you fall outside any of them, our team can recommend a different SunAura conveyor:
- You move rigid, flat-bottomed cartons or totes: This conveyor carries cardboard cartons, plastic totes and rigid cases. If you pack soft bags, sacks or loose parts, a belt conveyor is the better choice.
- Your line runs level or needs controlled speed: If you can drop a 1–5 degree slope and just need cheap flow, start with a gravity conveyor. If you run level, need speed control, or must feed a machine at a fixed rate, the motorized version is required.
- Load up to 50kg/m and width up to 800mm: This model covers the most common packaging and warehouse loads. Heavier per-meter loads or wider goods need our heavy-duty chain plate system.
- You want stainless steel or can use powder-coated steel: Food, beverage and pharma environments choose 304 stainless. Dry general packaging lines can use an economical powder-coated steel frame on request.
Troubleshooting Guide — Common Issues & Solutions
Motorized roller conveyors are dependable, but setup and wear issues do arise. Below are the most common problems we diagnose remotely, their likely causes, and fixes. Always lock out and tag out power before inspecting the drive or rollers.
| Problem | Possible Causes | Solutions |
|---|---|---|
| Conveyor won’t start / motor silent | Power not supplied; emergency stop engaged; overload breaker tripped; speed controller fault; motor capacitor failed on single-phase. |
|
| Cartons drift to one side | Frame not level; rollers skewed; chain tension uneven between sides; side guides missing. |
|
| Rollers not all turning | Chain off a sprocket; broken drive link; sheared roller axle pin; roller bearing seized. |
|
| Motor overheats / trips mid-run | Overloaded per meter; chain tension too tight; motor cooling fins dusty; supply voltage low. |
|
| Noisy or rattling roller bed | Worn roller bearings; loose frame bolts; chain dry; cartons catching on the frame seam. |

Frequently Asked Questions
What carton sizes will this motorized roller conveyor handle?
It carries any rigid, flat-bottomed carton up to the conveyor width (300–800mm). Roller pitch is set to your smallest carton — at least three rollers should support the box at all times. For a 300mm carton we use 75mm pitch; for larger cartons 100mm pitch is fine. Send us your smallest and largest carton dimensions and we confirm the pitch.
How long can the conveyor be?
Each section is 1–3m and sections bolt end-to-end. Beyond roughly 6–8m you add a second drive motor so the chain doesn’t stretch or overload the first motor. Tell us the total length you need and we specify how many drive sections are required.
Can I use it on a slope or incline?
This model is designed for horizontal or near-horizontal transport. Steep inclines will make cartons slide backward or tip. If you need to lift product, ask about our inclined belt conveyor with cleats, which can handle up to 30 degrees.
Is the stainless steel version suitable for food?
Yes. The 304 stainless steel frame and rollers resist corrosion and stand up to washdown, which is why it is the standard choice for food, beverage and pharmaceutical packaging lines. All fasteners are also stainless steel to avoid rust contamination.
What voltage do you supply?
We build to your local supply — 220V single-phase or 380V three-phase, 50 or 60Hz. Motors from 0.37 to 0.75kW are selected for the length and load of your line. Let us know your country and supply when you request a quote.
