Compact Carton Palletizer

Compact Carton Palletizer

The SunAura SNA-CCP600 compact carton palletizer brings automatic stacking to small production lines that never thought they could afford it. A 3×2 m footprint, 600 cartons/hour capacity, integrated conveyor, and 220V/380V operation — plug it in, load a recipe, and it stacks 2–15 kg cartons up to 1500 mm high. Built for small food producers, cosmetics brands, e-commerce fulfillment, and contract packers.

Product Description

The SunAura SNA-CCP600 is a compact, entry-level automatic carton palletizer designed specifically for small production lines, start-ups, and operations with limited floor space. The entire machine — frame, infeed conveyor, layer former, and pallet lift — fits on a 3×2 m footprint, about the size of a standard pallet plus one meter. It plugs into 220V single-phase or 380V 3-phase power, so no dedicated electrical service upgrade is required.

Cartons weighing 2–15 kg enter on the integrated conveyor and are automatically stacked onto 1200×1000 mm or 1100×1100 mm pallets up to 1500 mm high. The touchscreen HMI stores simple, pre-programmed patterns, and quick changeover between carton sizes takes under five minutes. This is the machine that replaces a human palletizer on lines producing 200–600 cartons per hour — the sweet spot for small food producers, cosmetics brands, e-commerce fulfillment centers, and contract packers handling multiple small runs.

Installation is straightforward: level the machine, connect power and (optional) air, load your first recipe, and start. No mezzanine, no elevated conveyor, no civil works. Every SNA-CCP600 ships with a quick-start guide, spare parts kit, and remote video commissioning support. CE-compliant guarding and emergency stops come standard.

Key Features & Benefits

  • 3×2 m compact footprint: The smallest automatic palletizer in the SunAura range. Fits into small workshops, packing rooms, and e-commerce packing stations where full-size palletizers cannot go.
  • Plugs into standard power: Runs on 220V single-phase or 380V 3-phase — no electrical panel upgrade, no 3-phase service required for the 220V version. True plug-and-play installation.
  • Up to 600 cartons/hour: Covers small-to-medium production lines. Replaces one or two manual palletizers and pays back within months on labor savings alone.
  • Handles 2–15 kg cartons: From light cosmetics and e-commerce cartons to heavier food and beverage cases — one machine covers a wide weight range.
  • Quick changeover under 5 minutes: Select the carton recipe on the HMI and adjust two guide widths. No tooling change, no lengthy setup between runs.
  • Integrated conveyor included: No need to source and match a separate infeed conveyor. The machine arrives with the conveyor built in — just connect to your existing discharge point.
  • Simple touchscreen HMI: No complex robot programming. Select a pattern, set the layer count, and run. Operators are productive on day one.
  • Easy installation and relocation: Forklift slots on the base make moving the machine simple if you rearrange your production floor. No anchors or foundations required.

How the Compact Carton Palletizer Works

The SNA-CCP600 uses a compact layer-building mechanism that stacks cartons row by row on a low-profile lift table. The cycle is simple and fully automatic:

  1. Cartons enter on the integrated conveyor. Upstream packing stations discharge cartons onto the built-in infeed belt. A sensor confirms each carton’s presence.
  2. Carton positioning and orientation. Adjustable side guides center the carton on the conveyor. The carton stops at the pickup position according to the active recipe.
  3. Carton placed onto the layer table. A push mechanism transfers the carton sideways onto the building layer. Side guides square the carton against the previous one in the row.
  4. Row and layer build. Cartons are placed side by side until the row is full. The mechanism indexes and builds the next row until the layer is complete for the selected pattern.
  5. Layer lowered to pallet. The full layer is lowered onto the pallet below. The lift table descends by one carton height and the next layer begins. The cycle repeats to 1500 mm stack height.

Is This the Right Compact Palletizer for You?

The SNA-CCP600 is the right fit if your operation matches all four of the following. If you fall outside any of them, our team can recommend a different SunAura model:

  1. Throughput under 600 cartons/hour: This is an entry-level machine for small lines. If you need 800+ cartons/hour, step up to our Low-Level or High-Level Case Palletizer.
  2. Cartons weigh 2–15 kg: The compact frame and push mechanism are rated for this range. Heavier cartons (20–25 kg) need a larger machine.
  3. Floor space under 4×3 m available: The machine itself fits in 3×2 m, but plan for 4×3 m including pallet loading and discharge space.
  4. Simple pattern requirements: Pre-programmed rectangular patterns suit standard cartons. If you need complex multi-SKU mixed pallets, see our gantry or robotic palletizers.

Troubleshooting Guide — Common Issues & Solutions

Compact palletizers are mechanically simpler than full-size systems, but small-line operators — often new to automated palletizing — encounter setup and adjustment issues. Below are the most common questions we handle by email and video call.

ProblemPossible CausesSolutions
Cartons jam in the infeed guideSide guides too narrow; carton flaps not fully folded; conveyor speed too high for small cartons.
  • Widen side guide gap to 2 mm more than carton width.
  • Verify upstream carton sealing — open flaps catch on guides.
  • Reduce conveyor speed for small, light cartons that tip easily.
Stack is crooked or leaningCarton placement offset; layer pattern not centered on pallet; pallet not aligned.
  • Center the empty pallet against the alignment stops before starting.
  • Verify the pattern recipe is centered on the pallet dimensions.
  • Check that each row’s push action is square against the previous row.
Machine does not start after power onEmergency stop engaged; safety gate open; PLC not in run mode; power supply mismatch.
  • Reset all four-corner e-stops by twisting and releasing.
  • Close and latch the access gate.
  • Confirm the HMI shows “Run” not “Stop” or “Fault”.
  • Verify the machine is wired to the correct voltage (220V or 380V as ordered).
Carton gets crushed or bent during pushPush force too high; carton too thin for the mechanism; guide rails misaligned.
  • Reduce push force in the HMI settings for lighter cartons.
  • Confirm carton test weight exceeds 2 kg — very light cartons may buckle.
  • Realign guide rails so they are parallel and not pinching the carton.
Stack height stops before 1500 mmRecipe layer count set too low; height sensor misaligned; carton thickness larger than recipe assumes.
  • Increase the layer count in the active recipe.
  • Clean and re-align the top-of-stack sensor.
  • Enter the actual carton height in the recipe so the lift descends correctly.
Pallet does not exit when fullDischarge conveyor not enabled; full-pallet sensor not triggered; pallet jammed against stop.
  • Enable the discharge conveyor on the HMI.
  • Check the full-pallet sensor at the discharge end.
  • Clear any obstruction at the pallet exit.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many cartons per hour can it really handle?

Rated capacity is up to 600 cartons/hour. In real production, most small lines run 300–500 cartons/hour depending on carton size and operator loading speed. This is enough to replace one full-time manual palletizer on a single shift.

Do I need 3-phase power to run it?

No. The 220V single-phase version runs on a standard industrial wall outlet. This is a major reason small producers and start-ups choose this model — no electrical contractor needed. The 380V 3-phase version is also available for facilities with 3-phase service.

How long does installation take?

Most customers install and commission within half a day. Level the machine with the built-in feet, connect power, plug in the optional air line, and run the first recipe. Our engineers provide remote video support during your first run.

Can I move it between production lines?

Yes. The machine has forklift slots on the base and no permanent anchoring required. If you rearrange your production floor or move to a new facility, a forklift can relocate it in under an hour.

What is the ROI on replacing manual palletizing?

Most customers replace 1–2 manual palletizer positions. On a single shift at typical wages, labor savings pay for the machine within 12–18 months. Factor in reduced repetitive-injury claims and more consistent stack quality, and payback is often faster.

What pallets does it accept?

Standard pallets are 1200×1000 mm (Eur) or 1100×1100 mm. The machine includes adjustable side rails to handle both. If you use non-standard pallets, let us know during specification — the rails can be customized.
